Dojo History

Shiohira Sensei started the Mountain View Dojo in 1981. The Dojo has been located at its current site on Wynandotte Ave since 1985.

Featuring a large open training area with high ceilings, the Mountain View Dojo offers students a place to practice Aikido with energy and focus. Beginner.s Classes, General Classes, Zen meditations sessions, and Children.s Classes are offered weekly.

Students of all abilities train together, every student having the opportunity to train with both senior and junior students. Every student benefits from such interactions of abilities.

Shiorhira Sensei instructs at the Mountain View Dojo on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and senior rank students instruct on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Visitors and observers are welcome anytime outside Zen meditation times. Please contact us if you have any questions.
