The SF Monday & Wednesday classes now start at 6:30 and end at 8:00 PM. Open Practice will be before class, from 6:00-6:30 PM.


History

Shiohira Sensei opened the San Francisco Dojo in 1974. The current location, for over 16 years, has been in the Konko Church at Bush and Laguna Streets.

General Classes are offered Monday to Saturday. In all classes students are of mixed levels from beginners to senior black belt ranks, so that everyone has a chance to learn from one another, but be able to practice at their own level. The training is to help students achieve self-mastery.

Visitors and observers are welcome anytime classes are in session.

Shiohira Sensei instructs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the San Francisco Dojo. Senior rank students instruct on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Note: The dojo is closed for major holidays and some special occasions.



Rates

  • One-time initiation fee: $10
  • Fees for as much Aikido as you want (up to six days a week): $100 per month
  • Aikido for Beginners Course - Six 45-minute sessions, twice a week for three weeks: $45 for the course.  For further information, click here.
  • Members of Aikido Center San Francisco and Mountain View may train free of charge at either dojo
