Aikido Center, San FranciscoPrograms for BeginnersTable of Contents
IntroductionThe first class on Mondays through Thursdays is a 45-minute "basics" course. Participants learn basic falls and rolls, exercises, etiquette, and techniques that form the foundation of aikido practice. New students can enroll either in a "beginner's course," which comprises three consecutive weeks of basics classes; or "basic membership," which allows you to come to any basic class, Monday through Thursday, for an entire calendar month. To enroll, please arrive at the dojo 20 minutes before your first class. The course fee is $45 for a beginner's course, or $70 for a basic membership. You can pay by cash or check. An aikido uniform (gi) is not required, but wearing loose clothing such as a t-shirt and sweat pants is recommended. You can continue taking basic courses until you feel ready to join the regular classes. Note: The basic courses are not required for regular training. Beginners can train with the regular classes from the start if they prefer. To view and/or print the Beginner's Class poster, click here. back to topInstructors
